Trail Rules

Enjoy your day on the Whitewater Canal Trail with a friend. Here are a few things you can do on your own or with a group: walk, jog, run; ride a bike; identify animal tracks, birdcalls, trees, or wildflowers; walk your dog (on leash); travel the scenic towpath, view historic structures; have a picnic; read a book; get a closer look at working farms; write poetry; take photographs; draw pictures; sing or whistle; make new friends!!

Keep trails open by setting a good example of environmentally sound

and socially responsible behavior.

Trail Rules

  1. Be safe and courteous.
  2. Re
  3. In the event of an emergency, telephone 911.
  4. spect the rights of other trail users.
  5. This is a primitive trail; please proceed at your own risk.
  6. Keep young children in your sight at all times.
  7. Horses and Motorized vehicles are prohibited on trail corridor.
  8. “Use of alcohol or drugs prohibited.”
  9. Trail open from dawn to dusk.
  10. Respect the privacy of adjacent landowners. Stay on trail.
  11. Leave no trace; be sure to pack out at least as much as you pack in.
  12. Be sensitive to the earth beneath you, wet and muddy trails are more vulnerable to damage.
  13. All pets must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet or confined and under control at all times.
  14. Pet owners are required to remove pet waste.
  15. Firearms and hunting of any kind are prohibited including bow and arrows.
  16. Do not disturb wild animals or trail vegetation.

 

Parking Rules

1. Parking at Trail Head is for trail users only.

2. No overnight parking.
